Description:
From the time I first remember reading about the trial of Jesus and the beatings and subsequent death on the cross, I was struck by the emphasis of him being King of the Jews and soldiers putting a crown on his head. In this design the royal blue and purple colors represent royalty and the gray and black represent the darkness of this deed, the slaying of the Lamb of God. The shape of the design represents the crown of thorns placed on His head, which according to most accounts was a round circle placed on His
head around the temples. Biblical Reference: Mark 15:17 - They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.
